Chumbawumba is a seriously, seriously underrated band. Their one hit was a sort of silly dance single that totally obscures their incredible musicianship. Listen to the harmonies. These people can sing. They use electronics as tools to help them push the folk/protest tradition they come from into the digital age; they’re not hiding a lack of talent behind fancy sound effects. Not that you’d know it from what gets played on the radio, mind.

Oh, also? They’re totally, unapologetically political–like all good folk musicians. Perfect election-time listening, really.
