After a string of hot, sunny days, the weather got wet this afternoon, requiring a stop under the Queen’s Park suspension bridge when I was out for a brief stroll:


The River Patrol was not chugging to the aid of the brass band at the bandstand just downstream, but they might have joined in a salute for the hardy audience which clapped way above their number in appreciation of the summertime concert. The band’s interpretation of ‘Happy Birthday’ and the Rocky theme made an interesting accompaniment to the rain.

Besides the Patrol boat, there are many safety features along this part of the Dee.


I’m still trying to decide if the lifebelt station’s worn and rusty look means something good or something bad.
